As some of you may know, our company was born from 360 tour technology. As it has evolved, technology has enabled us to continually improve our marriage of photography with software. Google has continually strove to enhance our perception of the world. From Google Earth, to taking it the the Street View, Google invaded the buildings lining the streets.

Several months ago Google began licensing photographers, such as our own here at 360ideas, to shoot Google 360Tours. Now, from a Street View or Places page, a user can click on your restaurant and take the grand tour of it. We're even able to shoot them for you and post them to your Google Places page. (The one with the gigantic map on it next to your address.)

Just launched is Google's Shopping and Product Search (prdhp for short). Google has now taken your online life to 3 dimensions with their new 3D views of, you guessed it, your products. The 360 HTML5 rotation capabilities give holiday shoppers a hands on approach with the feeling of holding the object. Currently only available for children's playthings, their is a waiting list where stores and brands can sign-up to be contacted.

What does this mean for you as a retail business?

If you're not excited already, you should be. If you're a retailer, you'll definitely want to be looking into if the brands you carry offer 3D shopping. If you custom make a product, We'll announce when Google gives us our license to shoot these product shows. This 3D shopping begins to close the gap between online shopping and standing in line at a store.

For now, come see us for your Official Google Tours and perhaps we'll be able to take your products to 3D online marketing.
