Small Business Web Trends
Are you marketing your small business correctly? It seems a silly question, right? Sadly, in the age of "Do It Yourself", everyone seems to be finding marketing "easy". With the advent of Pinterest and Facebook, even twitter, everyone considers themselves a marketer now. It is somewhat true, what with review websites, comments on Facebook and blog posts. With such connectivity, perhaps we are all marketers. It's not so far fetched a notion. If I tell my friend that Company X makes a mean burger and he takes his wife there for dinner, then I am indeed a micro-marketer in some way. Connecting with clients and gaining visibility is constantly changing. Start-ups launch every day and any could gain traction to become the next big thing. It is best to keep your eyes open and follow these things so you can capitalize on them early.
I've put together a small list of websites that I use to keep on top of marketing trends. This is so you, the business owner, can stay on top of trends and keep your business up to date.
- Forbes Small Business (http://smallbusiness.forbes.com)
- Hacker News (https://news.ycombinator.com)
- Tech Crunch (http://techcrunch.com)
It's not a long list and a quick Google search will yield gobs more. However, I trust these sources and many things that are published by these sites end up spammed across the rest of the interwebs.
